X Rugby 7's is an adapted format of the game of rugby, played on a half pitch with reduced intensity contact, which is designed to introduce new players to the game.
Being just seven-a-side, it may be easier to organise without a large number of players, but still offers the fun and fitness associated with the game.
This course is a mixture of online and face-to-face modules and is aimed at developing novice/beginner coaches interested in offering X Rugby 7s to their players, in the following areas:
- Understand X Rugby 7’s as a rugby format.- Know how to coach the game, ensuring player enjoyment and safety.- Develop players' core rugby skills.- Develop tactical appreciation of X Rugby 7’s as a game.
Once you register for the course you will have access to the modules on the IRFU's e-learning platform 'Gainline' and you are requested to complete the online pre-course modules before attending the face-to-face session if possible.
Further information is available in your Provincial Branch Coach Development Office.
