Play Rugby Course

The IRFU "Play Rugby Course" is an introductory coaching course for novice coaches, teachers, and parents who may be helping out with their own child's team in a club or school.

The course introduces coaches to non-contact/modified contact versions of the game of Rugby Union so they may in turn offer a fun and safe rugby experience to players who are new to the game. 

Some key characteristics of Rugby Union are identified and Play Rugby Coaches promote an enjoyable, safe and player-centred rugby experience, where the focus is on running and passing, with maximum participation encouraged.
