IRFU and Jigsaw initiative
The IRFU and Jigsaw have developed this online course for coaches as part of IRFU Education resources across Coach Development and Spirit departments. Jigsaw is the National Centre for Youth Mental Health in Ireland, though the material is of relevance to coaches within both Ireland and Northern Ireland.

The aims of the 40-minute online module are:
- to assist coaches to have a greater understanding of mental health
- to increase coaches' understanding of the importance of their role as a ‘one good adult’.
- to increase awareness of how coaches may promote and support young people’s mental health.
The topic of mental health is particularly important in these times and rugby can help play its part in providing a safe and fun environment where young people can enhance their physical and mental health.
